D-phenylglycine methyl ester is an important intermediate for the synthesis of cefaclor and ampicillin. cefaclor and ampicillin are semi-synthetic second-generation cephalosporins, with antibacterial spectrum and antibacterial activity similar to cefazolin. It is mainly used to treat otitis media, lower respiratory tract infection, urinary tract infection, skin and skin tissue infection, and can inhibit all haemophilus influenzae, including strains resistant to ampicillin.
