Solubility: Hydroquinone is easily soluble in hot water, ethanol and ether, slightly soluble in benzene.
Properties: Hydroquinone is easy to change color when exposed in the air. Its aqueous solution can be oxidized to brown in air, and the oxidation is faster in alkaline medium. Easily soluble in ethanol and ether, soluble in 14 parts of water, slightly soluble in benzene. Relative density (d15) 1.332. The melting point is 170~171 ℃. The boiling point is 285-287 ℃. Flash point 165 ℃. Medium toxicity, median lethal dose (rat, oral) 320 mG/kG. Possibility of causing cancer.
Uses: Used as developer, dye and drug raw material; Hydroquinone is mainly used as a photographic developer. Hydroquinone and its alkylates are widely used as polymerization inhibitors added in the process of monomer storage and transportation
Storage: stored in a cool and ventilated warehouse. Keep away from kindling and heat source. The package shall be sealed and shall not contact with air. It shall be stored separately from oxidants, acids, alkalis and edible chemicals, and shall not be mixed. Fire fighting equipment of corresponding types and quantities shall be provided. The storage area shall be equipped with appropriate materials to contain the leakage.
