Method 1) Masuko F,Katsura T.US 4536599A1.1985.

Add 117.2 g (1.0 mol) of phenylacetonitrile (2), 56.1 g of 25% potassium hydroxide solution, 291.5 g of 35% hydrogen peroxide aqueous solution, 1.78 g of benzyltriethylammonium chloride, and 351.5 g of isopropanol to the reaction flask. Stir and react at 50 ℃ for 4 hours. After the reaction is completed, isopropanol is evaporated under reduced pressure, cooled, filtered, washed with water, and dried to obtain compound (1) 128.5 g, mp 155 ℃, with a yield of 95%.

Method 2) Furniss B S,Hannaford A J,Rogers V,et al. Vogel’s Textbook of Practical Chemistry.Longman London and New York.Fourth edition,1978:518.

Add 100 g (0.85 mol) of phenylacetonitrile (2) and 400 mL of concentrated hydrochloric acid to the reaction flask. Under stirring, react at 40 ℃ for about 40 minutes, and raise the temperature to 50 ℃. Continue to react for 30 minutes. Cool to 15 ℃ and add 400 mL of cold distilled water dropwise. Cooling in an ice water bath, filtering out crystals. Add the solid to 50 mL of water and stir thoroughly to remove phenylacetic acid. Filter and dry at 50-80 ℃ to obtain 95 g of phenylacetamide (1), mp 154-155 ℃, with a yield of 82%. Recrystallization with ethanol, mp 156 ℃.
